Account balances under $1,000 are protected by the government's Member Benefit Protection rules. This means that generally, administration fees cannot exceed the amount of interest which would otherwise be paid to your account. This protection applies to all administration fees but not to government taxes or insurance premiums.
In periods of low investment returns, it is important to note that a nominal fee of up to $10 per annum may apply.
