Additional Contributions

Want to contribute extra to your super in addition to what your employer pays? Read on for your options.

Types of contributions

  • Voluntary member contributions – These come from your “take-home” pay. Pay them directly to us or request your employer forward these on your behalf.
  • Salary sacrifice - contributions made 'pre-tax' (before employer deducts PAYG tax) sent to us directly from your employer.

It is important to note that only voluntary member contributions are eligible for the Government Co-Contribution scheme. Provided you qualify, the Government will now contribute $1.50 for every $1 of your personal superannuation up to $1,500.

How to make contributions

You can make your own contributions at any time to increase your retirement savings. Even small contributions could make a big difference to the amount of money you receive in retirement.  Accountants Super makes it easy for you to make contributions:

  • eSuper for Members – this convenient feature within the Accountants Super website allows you to make voluntary member contributions at anytime.  All you need is your eSuper log on details and a direct debit authority in place.
  • Direct Debit – you can arrange for a regular voluntary member contribution to be debited from your account.
  • Payroll deduction – you can ask your employer to regularly deduct an agreed amount from your after-tax pay and send it to Accountants Super each month
  • Direct Credit – you can tell your bank, building society or credit union to make either a once off payment or regular payments directly to Accountants Super from your account.
  • One-off contributions – you can make a voluntary member contribution at any time by cheque, BPAY or direct credit.
  • Salary Sacrifice Contributions – if your employer agrees, you can make contributions from your pre-tax salary.  Depending on your salary and the amount of the contributions you make, this may also help reduce the amount of income tax you pay.

You can find out more about making personal contributions to your Accountants Super account by contacting one of our consultants on 1300 651 331.
